La Reina Del Mariachi, Katherine Glen, is an American singer, songwriter, actress, entertainer, reporter, TV host, poet, and beauty pageant finalist. Known for singing Mariachi Music and Rancheras throughout New York City, she has received numerous awards for Best Mariachi Singer and Best Female Mariachi Singer.

Queens native, she is the daughter of Barranquilla, Colombia, natives William and Luz Glen. At a young age, she began participating in local beauty pageants, such as Reina Centro Civico Colombiano and Miss Colombia USA. From there, she began singing at various festivals throughout NYC, such as Festival 5 de Mayo at Flushing Meadows Corona Park.

Media outlets soon began buzzing about how Katherine Glen was the only female Colombian Mariachi singer, was honored as a beauty pageant finalist, and had an impressive singing voice. This led to widespread interest amongst festival organizers to started introducing her on stage as La Reina Del Mariachi; the Queen of Mariachi.

 

Soon after, she was invited to perform at a local event, where she met an event flyer distributor. Impressed by her voice, he encouraged her to audition for a concert venue featuring famous Latin celebrities in concert. To no surprise, Katherine was selected to perform a Mariachi song in front of more than 30,000 people at the famous Madison Square Garden Arena in New York City.
